NBHA-PR World 2025 Qualifiers: Ready to Compete!

The qualifying season for the NBHA-PR World 2025 is underway, and this year promises to be full of excitement and top-level competition. The qualifiers for the National Barrel Horse Association of Puerto Rico (NBHA-PR) World Championship will consist of three main events, each featuring two races, for a total of six opportunities for riders to post their best time. This format ensures that only the best will rise to the top and qualify for the highly coveted spot in the world championship!

The Qualifying Format

Each qualifying event is designed to give competitors multiple chances to showcase their skills. With six total races, riders have the opportunity to improve their times in each run. However, only the best time from any of the six races will be used to nominate the final winners, making every race count and encouraging riders to give their best in each opportunity.

Riders with the fastest times will be selected to represent Puerto Rico on the international stage, where they will face some of the top racers from around the world at the NBHA World Championships.

Categories and Winner Selection

This year, 10 riders will be nominated to represent Puerto Rico at the NBHA World 2025. The spots are divided into two main categories:

• 5 teens in the Teen category.

• 5 adults in the Adult category.

Competitors in both categories must demonstrate precision, speed, and control in their races, adding a level of challenge and competition that raises the stakes for this season.

Dates and Location

The three key dates for the qualifiers are:

• October 26

• November 23

• December 7

All of these events will take place at Hacienda Margarita, Luquillo, which has been the site of some of the most important competitions this year. The facilities and track ensure that riders can perform at their best in a safe and suitable environment for barrel racing.

With a mix of young talent in the Teen category and experience in the Adult category, this year promises to deliver a top-tier group of representatives. The qualifiers not only highlight each rider’s technical ability but also their ability to handle pressure, as even a small margin of error can make the difference.
